What is laser dentistry?
Laser dentistry is an exciting new way to remove decay with no anesthetic. Laser dentistry does not hurt or harm you or your teeth. The laser energy and the water allow for gentle decay removal without heat, and therefore no need for dental anesthetic in these cases. However, this treatment is not appropriate for deeper cavities closer to the nerve. The key is catching the decay in the earliest stages before there is substantial tooth destruction. If you wait until the tooth hurts to seek treatment, it is too late for conservative restorative options.
Who can benefit from the laser?
All ages, especially children. Pleas check out Biolase.com or Waterlase.com for more information regarding the dental lasers.
What is LaserSmile?
It is the only true laser whitening system that allows for the teeth to whiten as much as 12 shades whiter in about an hour. The LaserSmile is not a high intensity light so it does not transmit heat to the teeth like other systems. The procedure takes an hour and a half. Our office also includes the take-home trays and opalescence material at no charge. The procedure is permanent.
How many treatments do I need?
Usually one time with the LaserSmile. It is able to whiten the teeth in one appointment that the other procedures might take weeks to months to whiten.
Does it hurt?
Some people may experience sensitivity, but it only lasts for 24 hours at the most. Any time one whitens one’s teeth, the teeth become temporarily dehydrated and that is what causes sensitivity.
Do you take my insurance?
Yes, we accept all insurance and will bill them for you. Our staff is highly trained and educated to answer all your routine questions regarding insurance, billing, and treatment.
How much are your fees?
You may be surprised at how affordable quality dental care can be. Fees will vary due to extent or the severity of the problem.
What are implants?
Implants are small titanium cylinders placed in your jaw just like your tooth, similar to a pin of screw in your leg or arm. New bone regenerates to the implant and becomes as strong or stronger than your natural teeth. It is a permanent restoration that will allow you to chew and function again.
What is the DDS appliance?
The DDS is a dental diet that helps the individual to lose weight. The DDS System directly addresses the problem of eating too much. It works with your built-in satiety response by slowing down your eating so you feel full with less food. The DDS System allows the patient to lose about one pound a week just by wearing the oral appliance when eating. It is similar to a child’s retainer. The best results are obtained when the appliance is used in conjunction with a healthier diet and moderated exercise. You may check out the web site, www.ddssystem.com, to learn more.
